The last time I went home to Maine, a friend introduced me to a blog called UnseenPortland. It's a site dedicated to the unseen. Amateurs, professionals, children--all posting photos, all showing their parts of their city, its unseen beauty. UnseenPortland continues the idea originated by UnseenDenver, the first of the Unseen blogs. Both blogs talk about the "pulse" of a city, and how "the pulse of a city can’t be felt through polished pictures or flashy guidebooks" (UnseenPortland). The city we live in has a pulse of its own. From the Tenderloin to the Castro, from the Richmond to the Great Highway, San Francisco is alive. "The goal of this blog is simply to show Portland, ME in it’s most raw and beautiful state" (UnseenPortland). I have the same goal for this blog, for this city we live in, for the city by the Bay: UnseenSF. Let's show it’s beauty.
